Hekate

Hekate is known, I assume, throughout the witch and pagan communities. Hekate is the dark goddess of the witches and is also known to be a goddess of the night. It is rumored that is was born of Nyx, the great goddess herself. She rules over magic, necromancy, the moon, night, ghosts and, of course, witchcraft. Once it was said that Hekate helped in the rescue of Persephone from the dark god Hades by lighting the way for Persephone’s mother during the night. She is thought to also be a goddess of the crossroads.

Overall, Hekate is an interesting figure who deserves due homage in the list of upstanding dark deities of Greek myth.

Here is a short run through of the goddess Hekate.

A song for Hekate!
